Finders Keepers is a design-led independent home & giftware store with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Their magical store is located in Waterford City.
Finders Keepers have a store based in Waterford City. After building quite the following of people around Ireland, and further afield, they decided to bring their store online. It was essential to Lisa and Luke to have a website that reflects who they are, and what Finders Keepers is all about.
The wanted their website to be;
- Easy to use
- Easy to navigate through
- Smooth shopping experience
The website development was focused on providing ease of navigation throughout the shop, and throughout all of its product categories.
To help showcase the beauty of all of Finders Keepers products, we wanted to provide an elegant minimal design, providing substantial amount of white space to give the site and product pictures room to breath.
It was also very important to make sure that the products archives, and product pages all displayed correctly on all devices. The whole ‘Checkout Process’ needed to function flawlessly on all screen sizes also, as more and more customers are now ordering on their mobile devices.
Performance was also a big factor for this project. The nature of this online market is very competitive, and we wanted to do everything we could to help meet search engine requirements. Google state that they recommend all websites be ‘mobile friendly’, while sites keeping page load times under 3 seconds will rewarded with higher ranking positions. We made sure to achieve high performance scores, and load times under these recommendations which can be seen here.
Some bespoke functionality, such as an ‘Out of Stock’ email notifier, and ‘Gift Note’ feature were also implemented into the build on request.
The End Result
We feel that a clean, yet elegant website was achieved as a result, where all products can be easily found from the categorisation within the main navigation.
The site also performs well, where the whole process of selecting products, adding them to the cart, before checking out to complete the purchase. The whole flow happens fluidly to help promote an increase in return customers.
